What began as a simple request to “fill in some space at the Deloraine Show” quickly grew into an event we now proudly mark on the calendar for years to come.
With a strong and enthusiastic team full of great ideas, we brought it to life in a way that was bigger and better than we could ever have anticipated. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, we had a prize lineup well worth competing for, including the now-perpetual trophy donated by Sue and David Walton of Barambogie, a whip donated by Aaron from Worldon Whips, embroidered TMCA trophy bags, TMCA merchandise, and prize money.
The event was positioned beside the whip cracking competitions for the day proudly supported by Simon Martin Whips. The two activities complimented one another, drawing like-minded viewers that attended the Deloraine Show.
The competition featured three divisions ~ Open, Junior and Striplings and a thoughtfully designed course that showcased elements from across our usual events. Competitors navigated bridges and gates, tackled whip-crack targets, carried flags, balanced Billy cans filled with water, and even faced a fire pot (without fire… yet!).
The finals delivered an exciting bareback, time-trial-inspired challenge. Competitors relied on skill and strategy to negotiate a set of obstacles quickly and efficiently to achieve the best possible score.
With plenty to consider during the planning and layout stages, we’re proud to say the day was a great success. A huge thank you to all our competitors and the many helpers who made the event possible.
