Be careful not to slip and slide!
The day started wet, muddy and with a shade of gloom. But this is what we are made for. Members of the Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemen’s Association learn to face the changing weather with determination. It rained at everyone’s arrival but cleared in perfect timing for the rest of the day, though a cool breeze remained to keep us alive.
The day had a great turn out, a group of members with enthusiasm to learn. We rotated from whip cracking to dry work to handy stock obstacles to cattle work. Smiles, whipcracks, the noise of children and the scent of BBQ sausages and warming pumpkin soup for lunch. Co-operation and good humour among all.
Thank you to all our instructors and helpers on the day. As a committee we look forward to seeing those who attended enter a TMCA challenge day or competition soon!
If you haven’t been to a training day, keep an eye out for our next one, great day out with a unique opportunity to learn historical high-country horsemanship skills.
